Example Hatch Schedule

The hatch schedule consists of a few steps. Receiving the eggs, setting the eggs inside the incubator, preparing your incubator for hatching, hatch day, transfer of the eggs into the brooder, and pick up. Below is an example of what your chicken hatching egg schedule might look like if it occurred in May of 2026.
In the example above you receive the hatching eggs on May 4th and the hatched chicks would be picked up by Pips Farm on June 5th (not shown). The dates would be as follows:
  1. May 4th - Hatching eggs are delivered by Pips Farm or available for pick up at Pips Farm.

  2. May 6th - Load eggs into the incubator now that they have settled and acclimatized.

  3. May 25 - Prepare the incubator for hatch by removing the rotating disk from the base.

  4. May 27th - Hatch day! Enjoy watching new life emerge.

  5. May 29th - Transfer hatched chicks to brooder

  6. June 5th - Pips farm comes to collect the chicks or you deliver the chicks back to the farm.

Please note this is a fictitious schedule though the schedule you receive will be structurally similar. The dates are planned so that hatch occurs on a Wednesday (between Tues and Thurs), transfer to the brooder is approximately 48hrs after the first chick emerges, and the students can enjoy watching the chicks do chick things for around a week before the chicks are required to be returned to the farm.
