Education is important to us, and we are happy to support local in-class hatching programs by providing chicken or quail eggs free of charge. All we ask is you return the chicks to us after the class has enjoyed the experience of observing pips and pops as chicks emerge from their shells.
Send us a message letting us know you are interested in acquiring some eggs and we can arrange a time for pickup or delivery. Open to teachers working from Abbotsford, Mission, and Langley. Exceptions can be made for areas close to Abbotsford if your town is not listed but you are a neighbour.
Chicken eggs will take around 21 days to incubate and hatch, and quail eggs will take around 18 days to hatch. Detailed instructions can be provided on request. Incubators not included.
Available: Spring and Summer
Chickens lay 150-300 eggs per year depending on breed. At Pips Farm we are working with several breeds, as well as our internal breeding program.
Due to outdoor temperatures and the health and welfare of chicks in cold weather, we can only provide hatching eggs during the spring and summer.
Available: Year-round
At Pips Farm we do the majority of our breeding and brooding indoors which allows us to provide hatching eggs year-round. Any eggs hatched can be collected and remain indoors in our brooding stations, allowing them to thrive in a heated and well protected environment.
Available: Mid-late Spring
Our Ridley Bronze Turkeys lay a limited number of eggs in April and May and then cease laying until the following year. Because of the small number of eggs they produce, availability is naturally limited.
